Remote I/O - BACnet

BACnet is a communications protocol for building automation and control networks. It is an ASHRAE, ANSI, and ISO standard protocol. BACnet was designed to allow communication of building automation and control systems for applications such as heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control, lighting control, access control, and fire detection systems and their associated equipment. The BACnet protocol provides mechanisms for computerized building automation devices to exchange information, regardless of the particular building service they perform.

Remote I/O - EtherCAT

EtherCAT (Ethernet for Control Automation Technology) is a open, high performance Ethernet-based fieldbus system that makes Ethernet technologies available at the I/O level. With EtherCAT, the controller can update input and/or output information at the time when the data is needed.

Remote I/O - EtherNet/PoE

The ET/PET/tET/tPET/PEE Modules are web-based Ethernet I/O Modules and feature a built-in WeServer which allows configuration, I/O monitoring and I/O control by simpy using a regular web browser. PET Modules feature PoE (Power over Ethernet)

Remote I/O - HART

The HART Communications Protocol (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer Protocol) most notable advantage is that it can communicate over legacy 4-20mA analog instrumentation wiring, sharing the pair of wires used by the older system. Due to the huge installed base of 4-20 mA systems throughout the world, the HART Protocol is one of the most popular industrial protocols today.

Remote I/O - J1939

J1939 is the vehicle bus standard used for communication and diagnostics among vehicle components, originally by the car and heavy duty truck industry in the United States. Because of the success of applying in vehicles, J1939 has become the accepted industry standard and the vehicle network technology of choice for off-highway machines in applications such as construction, material handling, and forestry machines. It is a higher-layer protocol based on Controller Area Network (CAN), which provides serial data communications between microprocessor systems (ECU) in any kind of heavy duty vehicles. The messages exchanged between these units can be data such as vehicle road speed, torque control message from the transmission to the engine, oil temperature, and many more.

Remote I/O - M-Bus

The M-Bus (Meter-Bus) is a European standard for remote reading of gas-meter, heat-meter or other electricity meters. This bus fulfills the special requirements of remotely powered or battery driven systems, including consumer utility meters, various sensors and actuators. When interrogated into a network system, the meters deliver the measured data to a common master, which can, for example, be a hand-held computer, connected at periodic intervals to read all utility meters of a building. An alternative method of collecting data centrally is to transmit meter readings via a modem.

PROFIBUS (PROCESS FIELD BUS) which is anchored in the international standards IEC 61158 and IEC 61784 is an open, digital communication system with a wide range of applications, particularly in the fields of factory and process automation. It is suitable for both fast, time-critical applications and complex communication tasks.

PROFINET is an open Industrial Ethernet standard developed by the PROFIBUS Organization (PI). Based on Ethernet versatility, PROFINET make vertical integration of field level with Enterprise level easily. PROFINET is automation in real time, so it can cover all requirements of the Automation Industry.

Remote I/O - RS485

I-7000 and M-7000 remote I/O modules provide cost-effective protection and conditioning for a wide range of valuable industrial control system. The product line includes sensor-to-computer, computer-to-sensor, digital I/O, timer/counter. I-7000 modules support DCON protocol, and M-7000 modules support Modbus RTU and DCON protocols. Many SCADA/HMI software and PLCs support Modbus RTU protocol. It is easy for them to integrate with M-7000 modules. Compatible with other brand I/O Modules.

Remote I/O - USB

USB Series I/O Modules are highly flexible solutions to acquire or output data. They connect directly to any PC USB Port, one cable for power and data. They can be very simply applied in a wide range of applications.

Remote I/O - WiFi

WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) links devices using wireless distribution method (spread-spctrum or OFDM radio), and generally providing a connection through an access point to the internet. WLAN gives users the mobility to move device around within a local coverage area and still be connected to the network. High-bandwidth allocation for wireless will make possible a relatively low-cost wiring.
